WMA’s Regulatory Affairs and Standards Development Committee (RASDC) has finalized the WMA 100 Consensus Body that will review and vote on proposed revisions to ANSI/WMA 100-2023, Standard Method of Determining Structural Performance Ratings of Side-Hinged Exterior Door Systems and Procedures for Component Substitution.

The Consensus Body was established in accordance with ANSI’s Essential Requirements, which are designed to ensure openness, balance, due process, and consensus in the development and revision of American National Standards. Participants represent a range of stakeholder interests with knowledge of or an interest in side-hinged exterior door systems and related testing and performance requirements.

Formation of the Consensus Body coincides with the public comment period currently underway through September 21, 2026. The public comment process provides interested parties outside of the Consensus Body an opportunity to review the proposed changes and submit comments for consideration as the standard moves through the ANSI development process.

The Consensus Body will review the draft revisions developed by the RASDC and will have the opportunity to submit comments and vote on the proposed changes. Comments received through the public review process will also be considered and addressed in accordance with WMA’s ANSIaccredited standards development procedures. Together, the Consensus Body ballot and public review provide important opportunities for stakeholder input and help establish consensus on the proposed revisions.

Revisions expand WMA 100 beyond its existing structural performance provisions by incorporating requirements for air leakage and water penetration resistance testing, providing a more comprehensive, door-specific framework for evaluating side-hinged exterior door systems while retaining the standard’s procedures for qualifying component substitutions.

WMA thanks Consensus Body members for volunteering their time and expertise to participate in this important standards-development process.
