WMA 100 Revisions – Public Comment Period

MA’s voluntary standard, ANSI/WMA 100-2023, “Standard Method of Determining Structural Performance Ratings of Side-Hinged Exterior Door Systems and Procedures for Component Substitution” is being revised in accordance with WMA’s standards development procedures and is now available for public comment.

The WMA 100 determines the structural design pressure rating of side-hinged exterior door systems (SHEDS) using the ASTM E330 test method. After a rating is established, the standard provides protocols for qualifying a component for substitution within the rated door system. It also includes slab stiffness testing procedures for determining substitution qualification.

Revisions proposed by WMA's Regulatory Affairs & Standards Development Committee (RASDC) are in strikethrough and underline format and can be accessed below. Primary revisions proposed expand the scope of the standard to include air leakage testing in accordance with ASTM E283/E283M and water penetration testing in accordance with ASTM E331 and ASTM E547.

The 45-day public comment period ends September 21, 2026. Written comments and questions can be emailed to Jessica Ferris, Director of Regulatory Affairs & Standards Development. Please use strikethrough and underline format when adding any changes to the text.
